I am a fully qualified counsellor and adhere to the strict code of ethics set out by BACP and the Counselling Society. I am CCC registered, fully insured and continue to update my knowledge in the theory and practice of counselling. I have my own practice as well as conducting counselling online. My particular areas of interest lie in the fields of Depression, Domestic Abuse, Young People and Families.
I employ a person centred approach that allows the client to work through and explore their issues within a safe, non-judgemental environment, gain a new sense of clarity and offer them fresh insights to help them to move forwards.
Why did I decide to become a counsellor? It was through my various experiences throughout my life so far, both personal and through work which led me into this profession.
My professional life has included working with varying age groups with many different physical, mental and emotional needs. I have also gained a great deal of experience whilst working with volunteer agencies. I have offered phone counselling for women suffering with postnatal depression, worked with Home Start helping families with young children during times of difficulty. I have also mentored young people with emotional and behavioural needs with Mentor Link.
